Attending Classes
Students may choose to attend full time or as day or night students. Full-time students attend both day and night classes and may choose to stay in on-campus housing or commute to and from campus. Students may choose to stay in on-campus housing or commute to and from campus. Commuting students may also choose to attend as either day or night students If a registrant intends to attend only one week of the two-week session, room and board, tuition, and meals will be prorated by half.
Music Theory Placement
Students are placed into theory classes based on their demonstration of knowledge on the placement test. Placement tests are taken the day of registration before group singing. Levels of theory range from elementary rudiments of music to advanced classes where students are able to construct and write gospel songs.
Daily Classes
During class instruction time, students are taught music theory, sight singing, conducting, and ear training. Group singing is held twice daily under the direction of Mr. Tom Powell.
On-Campus Housing
Full time students are welcome to stay in the dormitory located on Snead State Community College Campus. There 2 rooms are adjoined by a private bathroom. Two people stay in a room. Children under 10 must have a parent, guardian, or older sibling staying in the dormitory with them in order to stay in the dorm. Private rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis and an additional charge is applied.
Private Lessons
Students may enroll in private lessons for an additional cost. Private lessons are offered in piano, voice, and songwriting. The cost of private lessons includes five 30-minute sessions with your preferred instructor. Private lessons are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students attending only Week 1 must have requests approved by the Director before submitting payment. Week 2- Only Registrants will not be able to enroll in private lessons due to time constraints.
On-Campus Dining
The cafeteria located on the Snead State Campus serves students three meals a day. This is included in full time tuitions for students. Students who are commuting to campus may purchase meals for an additional cost. The cafeteria is NOT open on the weekend or on Friday evening to provide meals for students.
